Quick answer
As of 18 October 2026, Starling’s Easy Saver pays 4.00% AER (3.92% gross) variable on balances up to £25,000, including a fixed 1.50% AER bonus for six months. Balances from £25,000 to £1 million, and all balances after six months, earn the standard 2.50% AER (2.46% gross) variable.
Expired: the 5.00% AER new-customer Easy Saver (current accounts opened between 1 and 14 October 2026, Easy Saver within 30 days) is no longer offered on Starling’s savings pages (Starling, 18 Oct 2026).
Who it’s for
- Savers who want 4.00% AER easy access for six months (then the standard rate)
- Savers who want easy access with no minimum deposit
- People who want to fix for one year with £2,000 or more
Who should skip it
These are general points to weigh up, not advice. You may want to look elsewhere if:
- You don’t want a Starling current account — all three accounts need one
- You want a rate that stays high beyond six months — the bonus is temporary
- You have well over £25,000 to save — the bonus only applies up to £25,000

Full explanation
AER shows what you’d earn over a year if interest were added and left in the account. Gross is the rate before any tax.
Interest on the Easy Saver is paid monthly. On the Fixed Saver, Starling pays interest after one year, so you can’t get at the money or the interest until the term ends.
If you’re choosing between easy access and a fix, our guide to easy-access or fixed-rate savings walks through the trade-offs.
The catch
The bonus ends after six months, so compare what the account pays afterwards. Starling’s terms also exclude some people who recently closed a personal current account (after 30 September 2026), so read the eligibility wording.
