Cookie Policy
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on thefinancelowdown.co.uk, and how you can control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. Similar technologies include local storage and tracking pixels. Under UK law (PECR), we must ask for your consent before setting any cookie that is not strictly necessary.
Cookies we use
| Name | Type | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| fld_consent | Strictly necessary | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected non-essential cookies | 6 months |
On 15 October 2026 our pages did not set any advertising cookies. Our hosting provider (Hostinger) does not add its own analytics or cookies.
Third-party cookies and tracking
- Referral and affiliate links: providers such as TopCashback, Quidco, InboxPounds, Cheddar, Wise (Partnerize), Revolut, Zopa, AJ Bell (Mention Me), Monzo, Rakuten and Airtime Rewards may set their own cookies on their websites.
- Newsletter sign-up: our sign-up form sends your email address to MailerLite. Its confirmation page uses MailerLite’s cookies.
- Fonts: our pages load fonts from Google Fonts. This does not set cookies, but your browser shares your IP address with Google.
- BuyMeACoffee: we link to BuyMeACoffee; its cookie policy applies on its website.
How to change your choice
When you first visit, a banner asks you to accept or reject non-essential cookies. Nothing non-essential runs until you choose “Accept all”. You can change your mind at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page if the cookies we use change.
