Atom bank — savings accounts, rates and catches
Important: This guide provides general information, not personalised financial advice. Financial products, rates and eligibility rules can change, so check the provider’s current terms before applying. You can check a firm’s details on the FCA Register.
Quick answer
Atom bank is an app-only UK bank offering savings, mortgages and business loans — not current accounts. As of 4 October 2026, its Fixed Saver paid 4.55% AER for six or nine months, 4.90% for one year, 5.10% for two or three years and 5.20% for five years.
Its Easy Access Cash ISA paid 4.25% AER variable but doesn’t accept transfers in and isn’t flexible.
Who it’s for
- Savers happy to manage everything in an app
- Lump-sum savers wanting a fix from six months to five years (£50 to £100,000)
- People who rarely withdraw and can use the Instant Saver Reward rate
Who should avoid it
These are general points to weigh up, not advice. You may want to look elsewhere if:
- You want a current account — Atom doesn’t offer one
- You want to transfer an existing ISA in — Atom doesn’t accept transfers in yet
- You might need fixed money early — no withdrawals until the term ends

The catch
Instant Saver Reward pays 3.49% AER only in months with no withdrawals; any withdrawal drops it to 2.00% AER for that month.
The Cash ISA isn’t flexible: money you take out uses up allowance if you put it back.
